Community Law Award 2019

The Attorney General's Community Service Law Award is presented annually to a local legal practitioner carrying out pro bono work.

The award recognises legal practitioners who volunteer their time and legal expertise free of charge to help others in the community. Legal practitioners can be nominated by legal practices, practitioners or community organisations.

The Attorney General presents the award as part of Law Week, organised by the Law Society of WA.

Nominations for the 2019 Attorney General’s Community Service Law Award are now closed.

2018 winners

This year's individual winner was David Blades who is a legal advocate for asylum seekers and the organisational winner was Tenancy WA.

Tenancy WA provides specialist legal advice, representation and education to women and children, particularly those facing family violence, who are at greater risk of homelessness than others in the community.
