Consultation by the Department on Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse recommendations

Department of Justice – Discussion Paper – Duty of Institutions

The Department of Justice is seeking to consult on recommendations by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse regarding the introduction of new statutory duties of care.

These recommendations (89-93) are contained in the Royal Commission’s Redress and Civil Litigation Report.

The Department of Justice has prepared a Discussion Paper to assist interested persons and organisations to make written submissions in regard to the recommendations. It is intended that feedback will help inform consideration by the Western Australian State Government of recommendations 89-93.

How to make a submission

The closing date for comments is COB Monday 11 March 2019.

Written submissions or comments (only) will be considered by the Department of Justice and should be titled Duty of Institutions – Discussion Paper”.
